Had a 2 night 3 day reservation and our family thoroughly enjoyed the laid back relaxation of this 50's style mountain resort. Its a short drive from the Washington DC metro area and I had no idea that there was an all inclusive resort so close to home! We stayed in the summer but I really want to come back for the Fall leaves during the change of season. This is the kinda resort where you leave cell phones & laptops behind & just play with your kids - ping pong, shuffle board, badmitton, golf, swings and even a spring fed pool!!!
We have been going to Capon Springs on and off since 1994. Beautiful setting, thoughtful staff that remembers our names, delicious food and that delightfully refreshing spring fed swimming pool. A fine selection of activities such as hiking and golf or just relax and catch up on my reading. The rooms are always immaculate and I enjoy going here much more than any bland resort hotel.
Relax and unwind in the family atmosphere and country air. Must be seen to be enjoyed fully!
This place is a slice of heaven on Earth. The stress literally falls off your shoulders. Capon is like going back in time. Homemade food of all kinds. All the people and the Capon family makes it absolutely wonderful. You will not want to leave. You will long to go back and will figure a way to go back.
This is an amazing place. My wife's family has been coming here for 30+ years. The first time I came (around 2005?) I was amazed to see teenage kids singing around a campfire with their parents. I have since had kids of my own and they would rather come here for fishing, shuffleboard, badminton, sleeping in the hammock, family meals, talent show, and bingo than Disney World. The connection you make with your kids during this week is amazing. Just a relaxing vacation (although you have to be prepared to gain 5 pounds- they feed you three meals a day, lots of dessert, and snacks).
